Air Zimbabwe

Air Zimbabwe can trace its history directly to the formation, on 1 June 1946, of Central African Airways which was a joint airline between Southern Rhodesia, Northern Rhodesia and Nyasaland. In 1967 the three countries agreed to ‘divorce’ which led to the formation of Air Rhodesia Corporation on 1 September 1967. The airline changed its name to Air Zimbabwe Corporation in February 1980 at Independence.
